best architects 22
award
Jury confers 10 golds
We are pleased to announce that the «best architects 22 award» has been decided. With more than
400 entries, the number of participants was one of the highest in the history
of the award. The outstanding quality of the projects submitted made the
selection a great challenge for this year’s jury.
«It is impressive that the high quality of the
projects submitted is reflected in all areas, regardless of the size and prestige
of the respective assignment. Attention to detail, a consistent implementation
of the architectural concept and a sensitive engagement with the surroundings
characterise many of these works. Another striking feature is the large number
of renovation and conversion projects that upgrade existing buildings with
sometimes unusually creative concepts or new functions. This shows that this
area of architectural creativity is becoming increasingly important. The jury
has therefore decided to introduce a new category, ‹Renovation/Addition› for this important area in architecture.»
(Tobias Schwarzer, founder of the best architects award)
The
jury consisting of Sandy Attia (Brixen),
Samuel Lundberg (Stockholm) and Prof. Rolf Seiler (Geneva) honoured 81 projects with the best architects 22award. An
additional 10 projects received the distinction best architects 22 in Gold for
their outstanding quality.

«…Freed
from dogmas and design principles, high-quality architecture today derives from
generally effective values such as function, atmosphere, composition,
integration, originality, ingenuity, etc., which also find an echo in wider
society. It is thanks to the tireless idealism and professionalism of the
founders of ‹best architects› that this award, and the outstanding publications
that accompany it, have brought more attention to the high-quality European
architectural scene.»
(Prof. Rolf Seiler / Lin Robbe Seiler Architekten, Geneva)
