Description

The bus station of the municipal transport company of Seville (Spain) offers space for 400 buses. Previously, it did not have a roof. The city and management of the operating company attached great importance to the architecture, acceptance by the population and to the employees. The concept had to fulfil very high aesthetic and architectural demands. Hence, we developed a steel construction, which enables almost torque-free load transfer from the roof to the column. Depending on the load, its transfer alternates between traction force to compression force and vice versa. The solution was a pyramid structure with arms. The benefits of this construction lie both in fuel savings and production of electricity.
