Villa
Description
The historical 19th-century villa was built on an almost square floor plan as a complex volume that looks just as rigorous. In contrast with this original fabric, the roof area has now been treated to an extremely nuanced remodelling. The new volume is clearly oriented on the other roof areas in terms of scale and elevation and holds apartments for the family’s sons. Expanded metal cladding echoes the structure of the historic roof covering. The villa is a listed historic building and has been rehabilitated with great care. The murals, wallpaper and wood panelling were refreshed, restored and supplemented with new additions. In the course of the revitalisation, a new heating and cooling system was installed, based on geothermal energy supported by vacuum solar panels on the new rooftop addition.
