Description
The Neue Messe, Hamburg’s new trade fair and exhibition centre, is woven into the fabric of the Hanseatic port city. An exhibition boulevard was created as a living and vivid city space along Karolinenstrasse. The fully glazed loggia is the central connecting axis that links all areas to one another. The division of the façades and the eave heights of the roof shells integrate harmoniously into the existing city around it. The concept for the exhibition halls follows a continuous modular grid, which allows a high degree of flexibility. The halls are generally naturally ventilated and illuminated. The halls can be subdivided into smaller units by rearranging rail-mounted partition walls.
