Description
The site resembles a
green oasis within the urban area, bordered to the north and south by small,
wooded areas. A playground, leisure facilities and allotments form the
immediate neighbourhood, connected by a road to the adjacent residential areas
to the east and west. The kindergarten is designed as a single-storey timber
structure. The building is divided into three tall sections housing the main
functions and two low-rise connecting volumes for ancillary functions that run
across the plot in a north-south direction. This gives the building a rhythmic
structure and provides a bridge between the small buildings in the allotment
gardens and the somewhat larger volume of the recreational facility. The
entrance, featuring a spacious entrance hall, is situated in the centre of an
extra-tall section. It spans the entire depth of the building and connects the
entrance in the north with the green space in the south. The cloakrooms are
located here. The main rooms are situated as raised sections on the east and
west sides and are each oriented on two sides. Good natural lighting is ensured
by the additional skylight strips. Beneath the projecting canopies are
semi-public outdoor spaces, which provide a direct connection to the outdoor
play areas. Simple built-in cupboards accommodate niches for washbasins and
waste disposal. The colour scheme differs in each room, subtly helping to
establish a sense of identity.
