Description
After decades of dormancy, the idyllically located
Gasthaus Dreiviertelweg, situated at 1,325 metres above sea level along the
pilgrimage route to Maria Weissenstein, has been carefully revitalised and
upgraded. This historic inn, once a meeting place for pilgrims, summer visitors
and villagers, now shines in new splendour – without losing its soul. The
respectful treatment of the house’s history was at the heart of the renovation.
The existing structure was carefully preserved, original materials and
furniture were reused, and everything was reinterpreted with sensitivity. By
subtly incorporating colours and details from the past, the new elements blend
harmoniously into the overall picture. In order to maintain the character of
the house, more recent, unsuitable additions were removed and replaced by a
stylish veranda serving as the new dining room. The inn remains a place of
encounter: a village guesthouse and refuge for pilgrims, a space for card games
and bowling, a place to spend time together. Here, guests experience a mindful
kind of travel, far from entertainment technology and constant connectivity.
Simplicity and a conscious renunciation of excess become the new luxury. Culinarily,
the house follows a «farm-to-fork» philosophy, relying on regional products,
fresh ingredients and traditional recipes. Nature is not only visible but also
tasted. Thus, Gasthaus Dreiviertelweg, despite its modernisation, remains an
authentic place of peace and retreat.
