Description
With its simple volume, which is profiled towards
Frongartenstrasse and the rear courtyard but is neutral towards the two
adjacent perimeter block buildings, the building blends naturally into the
block without any exaggerated gestures. Following the structural logic and
usage conditions, an orthogonal volume is created with ideal spans for
column-free timber construction. The natural materialisation creates a homely
atmosphere: instead of working from home, employees can feel at home here. The
internal structure is reflected in the architectural expression. With a
delicate façade clad with thin-walled fibre cement panels, the building is able
to inscribe itself into a setting dominated by mineral surfaces while expressing
its prefabricated lightweight construction. The structural logic of joining is
transferred to the façade, and the rational construction method creates a
well-proportioned, tectonic form. The floor plan concentrates all service rooms
in the access core and thus offers comprehensive flexibility of use. The organisation
of the rooms on either side of the building allows for very efficient
construction, and the two-sided arrangement of the technical shafts means that
two independent tenants can be accommodated on each floor. The clear room
height and the shallow depth of the usable zones allow for generous daylight.
In combination with the natural building materials, this results in an
excellent working atmosphere.
