Description
Access to the new school building is provided through
a sequence of differentiated outdoor areas. From the tree-lined playground on
the south side, one reaches the outer, covered entrance area. Within this
sheltered outdoor space, there is a free-standing spiral staircase that
vertically connects the floors. The covered area is designed as a spacious
outdoor terrace on each floor. This weather-protected zone can be used
flexibly, serving as a recreation and break area as well as an extended outdoor
classroom, complementing the school’s spatial offerings. Inside the school
building, no additional staircases are planned, which helps to avoid noise
emissions across floors. This measure creates intimate learning and teaching
zones that enable individual and focused work. The simple and clear floor plan
is designed as a room-to-room connection, eliminating the need for corridor
spaces altogether. Upon entering the school building, one arrives at the
cloakroom area, which functions as a central distribution space. This area is
integrated into the teaching process and serves as an extended classroom.
Thanks to mobile cloakroom furniture, the space can be arranged flexibly and
adapted to different teaching methods.
