Description
The family home is located on the edge of Burg and is
oriented towards the magnificent views of the landscape. The square structure
is characterised by spatial references to the surroundings on all sides and is
framed by a wrap-around veranda. The veranda allows for various lounge areas
with a connection to the surroundings. The living space, organised on one floor
in a prefabricated timber construction, lies on a base embedded in the
topography. The inner centre with kitchen, fireplace and a large central skylight
forms the heart of the living area. The room opens up on three sides to the
surrounding space via the veranda. The bedrooms, studio and media room are
arranged around the centre. The direct connection to the centre via sliding
doors creates maximum transparency and spatial relationships. The projections
and recesses of the room chambers result in an exciting veranda layer with a
variety of living qualities and sight lines. The residential house accessed from the valley side via a covered outdoor space integrated into the
base, which serves as a storage area, timber store and access point. The
simple, untreated materials and the sheet metal tent roof evoke rural living
between a natural meadow with an orchard and a wild hedge.
