Description
The laboratory is used
to simulate various flood situations and can realistically replicate
water-related disasters. The concave walls of the tower are subjected to water
pressure and work like 48 small dams. The forces, concentrated in the corners,
are restrained by six concrete belts. To ensure enough water supply and
realistic flow speed, the water is stored in the tower and used to flood the
training areas. These spaces include various rooms where static flooding can be
simulated, as well as an outdoor ramp that is dynamically flooded.
Additionally, the road leading to the rubble training area can be included in
the simulations. After each exercise, the water is collected in the retention
tank and pumped into the tower, allowing the same water to be reused, which
contributes to reducing the use of fresh water.
