Description
For decades, the Dornbirn campsite has been leading an unspectacular existence at the transition between the town and the mountains, allowing nature and its mature trees to develop undisturbed. And that is precisely what makes for the quality of this place. It was therefore all the more logical to subordinate the buildings in terms of scale and expression. Where there were no trees, there are now buildings. Pavilions that are sheltered and cosy under these trees, as if they had always been there. The main challenge of this project was to harmonise the qualities and environmental factors of the site with the requirements of a modern camping operation. The aim was to enable carefree camping for 120 pitches with excellent infrastructure provision. In addition, the planning had to take full account of the literally organically grown situation on site with its stands of large trees.
