The new headquarters for the «Tour de Suisse Rad AG» company is being erected directly beside the popular cycle path around Lake Constance in Kreuzlingen. The building unites the company’s production facilities, offices, warehouse, an exhibition space and a café under one roof. A distinctive entrance façade in exposed concrete defines the forecourt, where customers can enjoy a short break, take a drink of water or re-inflate their tyres. From this point, the building spreads out over two stories and 100 metres along Seetalstrasse and the railway tracks. Large façade modules divide the façade into a rhythmic sequence. On the eastern side of the roundabout, a large display window provides a showcase for the company and its products. In the open-plan café and exhibition area, large openings give insight into the building and provide good natural lighting for the workspaces. The warehouse area is illuminated via translucent vertical strips and emphasises that this is more than just functional architecture.
