Description

The four-storey building rises up into the air on a confined plot in the Töss area of the town of Winterthur. Its slender stature gives it the appearance of a tower – a flexible tower building for inexpensive apartments. A network of upright windows evenly covers the building and accentuates the vertical dimension while the open stairwell in cast-in-place concrete provides a sculptural rear. The apartments in the complex are organised in a simple and orderly way: a core with wet rooms and kitchen separates the floorplan into zones of different sizes that can be connected or divided with the help of doors.
