Description

The Pelikan plot is found in a bend of the Höfenstrasse in Weesen in an exposed location with optimal sunlight and a view of the mighty Glarus Alps. The dimensions of the three buildings that are polygonal in shape and are staggered in sections were influenced by the proportions that are common to the village. They are loosely grouped around a central courtyard which provides access to all three houses. Cross gables form the pitched roofs and ensure an animated silhouette. Despite their varied appearance, the buildings are of a simple construction and all follow the same logic. The ensemble looks familiar, not agitated and yet unmistakably contemporary.
