Description
The building structure of the new Lake Zurich estate on the site of the
former «Buechdrucki» follows the building history of the former ensemble.
On the Seestrasse, the visible address and space remain familiar. However, the
former building conglomerate is replaced with a contemporary stone volume that
demonstrates awareness of its debt to the distinguished location in its
architectural expression as a «lakeside residential and office building with large
park». Access to the building is provided by a shared portico which provides
a sophisticated approach to the entrances for both residences and offices and
also creates a direct link to the lake. The 21 apartments are related in their
overarching room structure. An entrance hall opens out onto the flowing
sequence of reception rooms and grouping of private rooms. These include
dressing-, bath- and bedrooms and are connected to a further room via a shared
balcony. The living area is given structure by the kitchen and can be extended
by an adjacent room. Inside the apartments, the staggered building execution
creates multiple references to the park and sequences the views of the lake.
The terraces with varying overall depths follow this execution and are framed
by strong, space-containing natural stone walls in between the individual
apartments. It is furthermore possible to partition off seasonal rooms with the
help of filigree sliding glazing and so further increase the sense of space.
