Description
A new residential quarter with five
hundred apartments is being developed on an industrial wasteland in Bülach. The
apartment building, which towers 20 metres above its neighbours and will house
up to 90 apartments on 18 storeys, will become the landmark of the new area. A
pentagonal footprint creates three obtuse-angled open corners facing south that
form the outdoor space for the apartments. The building presents itself as a
solitaire on all sides, with façade cladding recalling a textile with a
vertical warp and horizontal weft threads, except for at the base and cornice,
which articulate the tower vertically.
