Description
If a mental coach is also an Austrian songwriter, living his life between extremes, he needs a place out in the wilderness as a balance to his life in the city. This simple house questions us, what we really do need. Deeply embedded in its surroundings, it is following the contours of a dilapidated old building but drafted anew around a man and his passions. An angular shape encloses space on two levels in this retreat. Firmly closed on all sides with wooden shutters, the windows can be opened at will onto different views. Reduced to the bare minimum, the hut consists of a place to sleep, a living area and a storage room. There is a fireplace inside and a fire pit outdoors, the water comes from a well on the site and no electricity is provided. Only a stove was installed for cooking and heating. The untreated wood on the exterior connects the dwelling to its natural wooded environment.
