Description
The property is located on the edge of the southern developed area in Zurich. The topography of the Uetliberg foothills offers an impressive vista over the city to the east and the Limmat Valley to the west. The elongated plot is perched on the side of a steep slope and is bounded on the north by woods. From the valley side, the residence looks like a four-storey tower. It holds two family apartments, each extending over two floors. The building silhouette tapers on each longitudinal side, resulting in bay-window-like niches that generate gracious diagonal spaces in the living rooms. On the top storey, these bays become uncovered terraces in the corners of the building. The lightweight partition walls inside as well as the built-in furniture have light brown ash veneers that, together with smooth concrete surfaces and terrazzo floors, determine the tonality and atmosphere of the interior spaces.
