Description

The complex is made up of three buildings joined by a common roof slab. Fire station and building yard stand back to back, separate yet connected. The fire house is oriented westward and is functionally placed at the exit. The building yard is more sheltered and less public, facing east. It consists of two volumes with a courtyard in between, where all the action takes place. The central positioning of the ensemble on the site makes possible a surround-ing driveway, substantially facilitating the manoeuvring of large vehicles. The open building structure is brought together by a slab that is repeatedly interrupted by courtyards and higher building sections.
