The building with 46 apartment units is part of a new residential district near the city centre and is set directly on a busy street. The concept for the building stipulates that the residents should feel protected while at the same time the apartments with their east-west orientation should receive a generous amount of natural light. The nested structure houses both maisonette apartments facing east and west as well as eastward-oriented single-storey units – this gives each flat a quiet courtyard side. The selection of layouts ranges from small studio apartments to spacious maisonettes and lofts. The playful arrangement of the large window openings in the sand-coloured plaster façade facade creates a dynamic look. Copper-toned folding and sliding elements for privacy and sun protection enable the residents to choose their own degree of exposure, while also creating an atmospheric play of light and shade on the interior. These elements give the residential building a signature character both inside and out.
