Description

Set parallel to the edge of the grounds, the new four-storey building inserts itself into the topography of the surrounding landscape and forms an ensemble with the existing buildings occupied by Energiedienst AG. Its lofty height allows it to stand out with confidence from the heterogeneous development of the industrial park, creating a new and distinctive address for the company headquarters. Protruding horizontal bands of white-coated metal emphasise the building’s serene grounding in the landscape. Arranged at a low parapet height, the bands reflect additional daylight onto the office ceilings inside. The building has been awarded “Gold” certification by the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB). The main entrance is on the south-east side and allows direct access to the company restaurant and Customer Centre. A central lobby with open stairway connects all floors. The common areas adjacent to the stairs provide a variety of options for informal meetings and communication. Thanks to a building depth of 20 metres, the office areas offer sufficient space for a flexible arrangement of workplaces along the facade, freeing up the central zone for special uses. Additional staircases at the ends of the building afford short access routes between floors.
