Description
The building is located on the outskirts of Haigerloch in Zollernalbkreis, overlooking Hohenzollern Castle. The location is bordered by its own yard to the north and agricultural fields to the south. The house was designed as an angular bungalow which turns away from the yard and opens up towards the countryside. The highly visible polygonal chimney towers above the single-storey building. As a gardener and landscape designer, the builder and his family are in constant contact with contemporary architecture. From the beginning, the wall surfaces were designed, internally and externally, to be exposed concrete. To minimise costs, the walls were planned as a single-layered construction. The solid, 20-inch thick outer walls were made of lightweight concrete “Liapor” LC 8 / 9.
