In the picturesque village of Walchensee in the Bavarian Alps, ARNOLD / WERNER remodelled an existing lodge from the 70s. The architects’ goal was to bring emphasis to the existing quality of the architecture and create a modern and comfortable lodge with a magnificent view of the lake and mountains. The lodge had to offer a high level of comfort both in the winter and summer months. The 6-metre-high lounge was opened up to the kitchen to create a spacious living area. All visible surfaces were covered with radial pine veneer boards. The floor is brushed alpine spruce. All pieces of wooden furniture were designed and produced by the architects.
