Description

The facility on the site of a former railway station serves as a training centre and it exhibits innovative concrete products. In the middle of the vast exhibition grounds, an ensemble of historic and new buildings connected by a railway-like platform form the core of the complex. The listed railway station recalls the early days of railway transportation. The small-scale rooms are primarily used for catering facilities for guests as well as administrative offices and utility areas. Opposite the station is the new building, which is terraced at the back to follow the slope of the land. The entrance level can be opened completely via large-scale windows and extends the platform to create an outdoor area for presentations and events. The lower level houses three connectable halls for training and lectures. They look out onto a contemplative inner courtyard. All presentation, lighting and air conditioning equipment is integrated into the cladding of the floors, walls and ceiling.
