Description

Construction of a weekend house in the pine forests of Mark Brandenburg. On a large wooded estate dominated by pine trees, a new wooden house has been built. With its simple form and modest appearance, it blends into the pristine natural surroundings in such a way that it looks like it has been there forever. At the same time, the external appearance of the house with its gently overhanging roof and dark wooden façade alludes to the myths and fairytales about forest dwellings. The house was built entirely out of wood. The exterior is covered with a dark brown, glazed pinewood cladding. The house is accentuated by a large window recess and a few consciously smaller windows with extra-wide frames. To contrast with the dark brown building, the openings and frames are painted in a simple white. This also refers to the interior which is lined with white painted pinewood cladding on all sides. The building’s large west-facing recess enables users to enjoy the countryside from a protected and slightly elevated position even in inclement weather. The beauty of the area can also be enjoyed from the interior: the wide bay window which spans the whole length of the façade frames a picture of the serene and peaceful forest.
