Situation of Urban Development > The new exhibition and presentational building of Baufritz, which produce individual and ecological one-family houses in wood design, is located in Erkheim, to be found south of the newly planned highway between Memmingen and Mindelheim. > Layout Concept > This building which slightly seems to float above the site is in principal planned to be introverted. The spatial staged cladding is employed to play with the issue of movement and alteration. The contrast between architecture and moulded nature is an important issue for the whole spatial concept of the exhibition building. > Sensual Experience Area > The sensual experience trail was developed in cooperation with the university of applied sciences in Biberach, where I am Professor for construction and design. Resultant they developed an exiting concept on this topic. The ambition of this experience area is to show the customers how to find out the different qualities of the material wood. > Construction > The single-storey building, approx. 62m x 30 m, is completely pre-fabricated and made of wood. > Façade > The exceptional concept of this design will be reflected by its external appearance. The introvert arrangement of the interior allows a special kind of façade. The longitudinal sides (length 60m) react to the special situation of the building next to the highway. The façade is made of vertical, free-standing, wooden lamella, placed in front of a wall made of white coloured wooden rhombuses. The aim of these two layers is to generate interference patterns which are generated by the eye movements of the viewers. These patterns create the impression of a constantly changing structure although 

being a fixed construction.
