Description
Situated on a hill to the east side of a town centre, overlooking the valley and bordering a forest and agricultural land, this house with its U-formed shape is distinguished by the use of frameless glazing and precast concrete slabs externally. The interior spaces were arranged to achieve the optimum in lighting and framed views to the surroundings. Cut into the slope of the site, the house seems to merge with the landscape architecture, the concrete retaining walls and green spaces. The homogeneous skin of concrete and glas defines the outer shell. The material of the black-pigmented precast concrete elements is not visible at first glance. The textured finished, cast and etched concrete slabs contain slag aggregate and broken stone (Nero Ebano). The frameless glazed planes, extending over the roof edge and building corners and flush with the outer surface, ensure a flowing transition between indoors and outdoors and seem to slice up the massive building form.
