Description

The interior as well as the exterior of the hotel shows one clear artistic vision, its 17 storeys narrow to the corner and develop vertically with numerous setbacks. Major material of the facade is a limestone of a brighter colour. Strongly moulded stripes of limestone define the horizontals. The interior was designed in a timeless deduced elegance being highly modern but independent from any fashion. In the interior the horizontal lines of the facade show new combinations and follow along the walls through the public areas only to find themselves to meander three dimensionally into furniture. Numerous pieces such as armchairs (Walter Knoll), lamps (Spectral), doorknobs (Valli & Valli) and even carpets were exclusively designed for the hotel. Dominant materials are walnut timber, smoked oak timber, Corean and Carrara marble.
