The apartmenthouse Hohenrain is situated on one of the most exclusive sites of Kilchberg near Zurich. The crest allows an undisturbed view to the lake aswell as the alps. The house has been conceived to be a monolithic building in order not to disturbe the idylic willow. Sheep, horses and lamas are still kept in this aera. The five individually organized apartments in the ground-floor and basement as well as the spacious penthouse offer private outside areas to the occupants in means of loggias with view to the charming surrounding. Because of the individual outside areas as well as the variating appartment-layouts the idea of an autonomous luxury flat is further beeing suggested to the inhabitants of the apartment house. The use of Terrazzo-floors, wooden panelled loggias und finally the massive limestone facade underlines the character of the building.
